“who was born in February 1869. Abraham Lincoln would have still been President then if he had not been shot.”

He would have had to win a third term. I would like to think Lincoln would not have broken the tradition of George Washington’s of only serving two terms. Lincoln was before the age of politicians who consider themselves to be indispensable.

Presidential terms used to run until March 4. FDR in 1937 was the first President inaugurated on January 20.
