A year or two ago a 4 story fully occupied “modern” wood frame aprtment building in NJ burned to the ground. Luckily no one suffered any sever injuries. A small fire starterd in the wall and spread to the wood framing.
Wood, properly used, is fine if you keep people like General Sherman away from it.
