Seems like a really stupid idea to build skyscrapers out of wood.

Ben Franklin once wondered about people who built their homes out of the same substance you heated the house and cooked your food with.

They should mandate wooden cars. Really make a genuine statement.

So an eleven-story residential tower is perfectly safe, but the
Delta Queen's interiors are not. I guess all woods may be equal, but some woods will be more equal than others.

“Oregon pushes for wooden skyscrapers to revive timber industry”
What?? Is sanity regaining a foothold in Oregon? The government has been owned by environazis there for ages. They killed the timber industry - I have a hard time believing this story.

Might check with Chicago and San Francisco as to what can happen to a wooden city. Rome, for that matter. Some people never learn.

Cross-laminated timber (CLT) is a large-scale, prefabricated, solid engineered wood panel. Lightweight yet very strong, with superior acoustic, fire, seismic, and thermal performance, CLT is also fast and easy to install, generating almost no waste onsite. CLT offers design flexibility and low environmental impacts. For these reasons, cross-laminated timber is proving to be a highly advantageous alternative to conventional materials like concrete, masonry, or steel, especially in multi-family and commercial construction. https://www.apawood.org/cross-laminated-timber
