As long as he’s not saying “I was a nationalist BEFORE I was a globalist.”
Or - more reality-based, Trump is (I believe) saying that he is a Nationalist - THIS country first - jobs, economy, etc. BUT - he also recognizes the reality of international markets and trade. BUT - while he sees the need for trade, he would/will take a US-first position in every deal.

Hey, globalism isn’t bad if you’re the one doing the globalization. That’s what I read into what Trumps saying.
We want the EU to force the issue of globalization? No, we want the U.S and Presidents like Trump who will put America first during negotiations.
But still, there are many countries that won’t globalize their populations, the’ll take advantage of global Trade, but there’s plenty of countries that simply do not want to dilute their ethnicity.
China big example.
