Will We Miss Our Freedoms When They’re Gone? Chances are, We’ll Be as Compliant as They Hope

The slow, drip-drip erosion of our liberties is a purely modern condition. Almost the entire course of history has been the story of power going from small groups to large groups and freedoms increasing; there have been lam-down on freedom and the occasional dictatorial grab, but on a global scale, societies have become more free. But the process is finally reversing, and although the illusion remains, we are actually doing this to ourselves through our language, our attitudes and our compliance.

Language

When we agree to speak in certain patterns, or begin including “state sponsored interjections” in our speech, we are not “adding to a more inclusive society”, we are in fact surgically excising the real thoughts behind our words. We are using manufactured stock phrases instead of real, considered dialogue. This leads to a society where children understand neither the nuance nor the subtleties of their native language, they will be brought up to quite literally think in these bland, meaningless tropes. as Orwell made point of in his book 1984, the people of the future will not be able t understand the concept of “free” because they will not have the language to articulate their thoughts.

We’re already there. I hardly know anyone who understands the concept of freedom and very few who can even talk about it. You know that someone has zero concept of freedom when you say something about the government knowing every detail of your life and the response is, “Well, if you’re not breaking the law why does it bother you?”

I’m tempted to say that the only freedom we have now is the freedom to do as we are told to do but we don’t even have that in reality because there are so many damned fool laws and regulations that you don’t know how to do as you are told to do even if you want to. Those who still imagine that it is possible to live in accordance with the law in the USA are living in a fantasy.

There are a lot of us who will not comply, & it looks like some of the millennials are starting to think for themselves a bit. There’s still time & still hope.

Yep, we’ve gone a long way in a bad direction. But voting for Trump was a huge act of non-compliance. Now if only he will live up to our hopes for him.

Liberals have defined individual liberty as sexual freedom. Freedom to have sex in any way you wish with anyone or anything you wish. A licentious population absorbed with self indulgence is compliant.

This only works when things are going OK—When the big war comes—and come it will, how many Americans Will fight for the Liberal Progressive America? How many liberals will survive under Sharia Law or Chicom domination? Few if any.
