I’m not happy with the tweet either. I have a huge problem with Reince Priebus and Paul Ryan carrying such weight with his decisions. (IMO)

And I’m extremely disappointed in his “public” bullying of the Freedom Caucus. I’m rather surprised by his tactic, I expected better from him. Trying to strong arm his own base won’t work, IMO.

It may be public, but I don’t think it’s personal bullying.

Remember that the HFC and the Trump administration are not the same; they are different factions in Washington with different tactics and different goals.

The HFC decided to scuttle Ryancare in a way that painted them as uncooperative, disloyal, and liars. They obviously thought that it was worth it, but Trump obviously saw it a different way.

And, dispassionately, Trump’s reaction is exactly what one would do if he’s playing with Tough but Fair game theory. He gets more of his pretty-darn-conservative agenda passed by compromising with the RINOs and putting pressure on the HFC than by letting the Freedom Caucus fight him without fighting back.

We don’t have to LIKE it, but it’s completely consistent with a businessman who knows game theory and deal making WAY better than I do.
