How ‘bout we quit sending “grants” of taxpayer money from Washington to ANY cities. WTF are we doing that for in the first place? Where does the Constitution authorize it?
Both the Republicans and Democrats stopped worrying too much about “Constitutional authority” about a century ago. The federal funding is a lever both parties use to exert control over state and local governments. They won’t ever give up that power voluntarily.
