Sen. Ted Cruz wasted no time mincing words on what he thinks about the three phases of the American Health Care Act Sunday morning on Face the Nation.
“That ain’t gonna happen,” Cruz told host John Dickerson when asked about the 3-phase plan President Trump and House Republicans have been pushing since the roll out their non-repeal and replacement of the Affordable Care Act.

It’s not repeal at all, it’s a rearranging of Obamacare.
The need for 60 votes will still be there for phase III, if they don’t have them now, they won’t have them then.

Senator Cruz needs to break out some of those Constitutional ninja moves and create a bill that does what he wants and can be passed.
Is he capable of doing this? No time like the present, Senator Cruz.
I watched this interview this morning, and the story is correct, however my take is a bit different, and to a certain extent, I agree. This 3 part rollout with the best bits to be released last seems wrong to me. I agree that we should put it all out at once. And if we don’t have consensus from the right, let it sit for about 3 months where Obamacare will cave in on itself by its own weight. In the waiting period, take its teeth away so it becomes insolvent quicker.
So IMO the 20 million people on Obamacare are still there because the have no income, essentially welfare, or they are rich enough to be able to afford the skyrocketing costs, or finally have such horrendous medical costs that its the cheapest way to get care (what a terrible situation). The way to really kill Obamacare, is to mandate that the Senate and Congress immediately have to go onto the plan, and their Cadillac plan ends. You will never see congress and the senate move quicker when their butts are on the line.
Finally, whatever plan they and we end up with we will all have to live with, them included.
Once they have a personal stake in the fight, they will start to cooperate for their own self interest.
Typical politics.
Take phase three, make it an option as opposed to the existing Obamacare and let the free market sort it out. This way you can go through reconciliation without 60 votes and let Obamacare rot on the vine while giving Americans better choices.
This isn’t very difficult. That 5 page new insurance bill they paraded 6 years ago can be combined into Obamacare.
Very disappointing the republicans can’t get their ____ together on this. The Republicans had 8 years to have a replacement bill that everyone could support and now when the opportunity is there they can’t seem to agree on anything.

What a mess. The odds of having the 60 for a phase 3 seems like a fantasy. Even if there were 60 there will still be the rinos that we have now. We do not have 52 now Id say 42 is more like it. Ryan stuck Trump with this POS knowing he has to support it for several reasons. It’s just a mess very frustrating.
Yeah this kind of invoice is what the whole DAMNED country is dealing with, NOTHING in LYIN RYANS bill does a damned thing to solve this!!! You get the premium money back in tax deductions but how in the HELL do you pay the amount every month!!! THEN there are the deductibles which the bill does NOTHING to change!!! You pay these VERY HIGH premiums every DAMNED month but you STILL pay out of your pocket for CARE because the dectables are so DAMNED high you NEVER receive care unless you have cancer, a heart attack, a severe car accident or something else MAJOR!!! This bill does NOTHING to get illegals OFF of FREE healthcare NOTHING!!!
The Cruz supporters, who were incessantly mocked and derided here on FR, are increasingly being exonerated.
