Rachel Maddow’s scoop on Trump’s tax returns sparked a media frenzy and left many disappointed over the hype after her report aired on MSNBC Tuesday night. On Friday’s Real Time, Bill Maher said it all amounted to “a Help Trump Burger.”
“Liberals have to be so careful these days. I’m a big fan of Rachel Maddow, I want her on the air, but you can be a fan of somebody and not like everything they do,” he told guest panelists Barney Frank, a former Massachusetts congressman, and author Andrew Sullivan. “And this week she hypes — which is okay — that’s what people objected to, the big hype — ‘She’s got some of Trump’s tax returns!’ like it was liberal New Year’s Eve. Did you see this? And then it turned out to be a big Nothing Burger. Worse than a Nothing Burger, it was a Help Trump Burger.”
Maddow’s MSNBC report revealed two pages from Trump’s 2005 tax returns that showed he paid $38 million on $150 million earnings, “which is well within respectable,” Maher said. “This is probably the best tax return he’s ever filed, which makes me think this came from Donald Trump. As you said, he’s actually good at this. If we want to win, we can’t get played. This is getting played, I’m sorry.”
Frank commented, “I didn’t like what she did. … Her journalistic scoop was, apparently, to say, ‘Oh, thank you.’ I don’t consider that crusading journalism.” Though, Maher reiterated, “All I’m saying is, let’s not weaponize Rachel Maddow.” (See the full conversation here.)
Maddow appeared on The Tonight Show Wednesday to discuss her report, which she admitted did not hold “a damning bombshell.”
“I think the reason people were so excited is because it’s really weird that the president hasn’t released his financial information,” she told host Jimmy Fallon. “It’s really odd, and there’s reasons to worry about it.” She added, “So when we found out that we had one, it was like speaking to a group of people dying of thirst in the desert and we were like, ‘Behold, we have found a drop.’ ‘A drop? You have a drop!'”

Trump pays tens of millions of dollars in a single year to state, local and federal treasuries. These funds get to be spent pretty much like Rachel Maddow and the Libs would like. They collect a big chunk of it for themselves.
GOOD:
Trump pays no taxes and at least some children go to bed hungry.
There was also an interesting segment where Maher was talking about the rioting or protesting liberals that were an embarrassment to all liberals and that guy Sullivan went on a rant about it as well and then Bawney Fwank spoke to Sullivan and sort of called him out as not practicing what he preaches and then under his breath while Bawney continued speaking it sounded like Sullivan said "F*ck you Barney!" And then gave him a cold stare but then the camera turned away from Sullivan as he seemed emotionally hurt he got dissed from a fellow liberal, but it's so funny to see how fast they will turn on each other when they normally give the kumbayah we all need a village to be happy together moments.
I’m pretty sure every liberal massively cheats on their taxes, and collectively are astonished that anyone would actually pay what they owed. Liberals, of course, are scum.
Barney Frank and Andrew Sullivan are two people with no credibility.

I'd really like to see the President - and any Presidential candidate - say 'It is none of your damn business', when pressed by the Media for their Tax Returns. If he, or they, did anything nefarious the IRS auditors would attack them.
No one should allow the Media to browbeat them into releasing what should be private information.
One exception I'd like to make, though, would be for their Charitable donations to still be made public. Admittedly, none of my business, but I think it provides a small read on the person's character. The Dems: Clinton, Gore, Kerry, Obama would always donate minuscule numbers - particularly when compared to the Republicans. Although you could see the gamesmanship going on during the recent elections. The Obamas used to have very low Charitable donations - right until about a year before Barack ran for President - then it shot up to something respectable. Although I'd call most of the recipients of these donations pretty 'odd'. (not Christian based charities). And Hillary's recent donations were pretty good - but over 90% of her donations went to the 'Clinton Foundation' - which would be better named the 'Clinton Money Launderers'.

In recent weeks Maddow had had some buzz over improved ratings, and now this...even her fellow libs can’t stop slicing her up.
Maybe people will watch to see what she tries next.
Stop assuming that everybody cheats on their taxes as you lefties all cheat. That is the only reason you idiots would think you could possibly nail Trump with his tax returns.
