Has the Dutch Election Been Fixed? Not a Conspiracy Theory, Just Numbers and a Question

Polls have been spectacularly wrong in recent years; Trump, Brexit, the UK 2015 General Election, all suggested that the Status Quo would prevail. And of course, they were wrong. This is in part due to how the polls are conducted, and the way in which they are often used as propaganda tools as opposed to informative data sets, but they are still a valuable tool if you know how to read the raw information.

The Dutch election results announced today, show how wrong the pollsters can be yet again. It was in fact, only the very last exit poll that got anywhere close to the final result. In case you didn’t catch them, here they are (with 93% counted):

Prime Minister Rutte’s VVD to win 33 seats Geert Wilders’ PVV 20 seats V66 and CDA tie for 19

Dutch, like most other countries, requires a ID to come in and vote. Dead people voting is virtually impossible. You have to register yourself in your town or village...with your passport/ID. Very unlikely that false voters exist within their system.

I do agree on polling being disconnected over the past month. Winner at this point is the VVD Party but it’s a 21-percent situation...five points down from where they were predicted to be. Massive loss for their partners currently in gov’t, the PvdA Party (they barely got 5-percent of the vote).

Wilders last week, was said to be in the 16-to-17 percent range, but from this election...he got 13-percent, getting him second place.

So votes shifted away from the normal big parties, and you can tell that the general public is more divided than ever. The Poll folks probably didn’t anticipate that much division.

No party has won a majority or anything close to it in a Dutch election for over a hundred years.

These results look normal.

Wilders party gained five seats while Rutte’s lost eight from the last election.

The Turkish issue smells since it set up a confrontation with the EU (Merkel started it in Germany by banning Erdogan rallies) and Rutte pushed the notion he was a ‘responsible leader’ which was a smack not just at Erdogan, but a way to link Erdogan to Geert Wilders, Marine Le Pen and Donald Trump.

Sure it’s fixed. Their entire government is betraying its people—flooding the place with subversives to complete their global, unelected tyrannical enslavement.

Agreed - it was a swing from Labor to Wilders et al. I believe the big story here is the utter thrashing Labor received.

Game over for Holland I guess. Rejected populism and embraced pro-EU, pro-refugee stance. New PM will be a muslim from Morocco.
