I chose the wrong word. Sorry. What I meant to say was Constitutional Carry.
And yes, I probably made the same mistake twice (at least).
I lived in NM for many year, at the time they did not, but now they have Constitutional Carry. I have been watching how that worked out, not a bump in the road. There were some public gatherings where many exercised the right to carry. The newspapers covered it. (very dangerous, because of their expected distortion)
Thanks
What happened? Nothing. And the press soon tired of even covering the subject.

What I would like to see is Constitutional Carry -- with a voluntary "training credit" course/card available -- to serve as ID and count toward a discount on carry/firearns liability insurance, etc. (Analogy: like "Defensive Driving" training counts for auto insurance discounts.)
During my "exile" in MA, I met far too many people who carried -- but, had never fired a weapon. Not good! I also found the TX CHL course to be valuable in the legal, safety, threat de-escalation, and shoot/don't shoot areas. And, I'd feel much safer if I knew every carrier was safety-trained and qualified with their piece... But I don't want it to be mandatory!

FWIW, I prefer concealed carry -- for both tactical and social reasons. But, I want to remove my "cover garment" at will. In fact, in certain "social" environments, I wear black slacks and a black turtleneck -- with a (black) M&P in a black IWB. Most folks don't seem to notice it when I take off my jacket. But, I did have one fellow say, "I didn't realize you were packing -- until I saw the white dots on your piece's sights!" LOL!
You're right on about the "bumps" -- strictly hysterical hoplophobe imaginings/propaganda -- that never, ever happen...
Peace, FRiend -- and good shooting!
