And they didn't march on D.C. because they figured that the 1st Battle of Manassas would be enough.
D.C. was wide open. After the loss at the 1st Battle of Manassas there was nothing to stop them from getting to D.C.
But their politeness and honor made them pause and leave.
Thereby, there was a need for the 2nd Battle of Manassas.
And the war was lost.
Courtesy, politeness, and honor was lost on the north.
The south lost.

I’m sorry I’m not following your description of the military’s behavior during the inauguration. I didn’t see the moment you spoke of and if the military turned their backs to Trump I would not find it encouraging as I don’t know the history of such symbolism. I apologize for my difficulty in grasping this - could you give me two more sentences about it?
Does their behavior signal that they support him? Do you feel Trump knew they would behave this way (you said he didn’t flinch). Do you feel he asked them to do this or they offered? I know Barry gutted upper command and undermined morale as much as possible so I do wonder where we stand now. As to the video, I’ll try to find a clip.

Maybe I understand now that I read your description again - you said “stepped down” and I associated that with social withdrawal but you mean they were on an elevated platform and come down to stand beside him and then immediately returned? More than one soldier? A whole row? I’m sorry for the questions but this is intriguing as it indicates that he anticipated the need to show military force at his own inauguration. I keep thinking he’s known just how ugly this was going to get so that the recent Dem whacko’s call for blood would not surprise him.

I’ve thought Hillary and Obama have control of the GOP to the extend that they must be in possession of some mighty nasty blackmail. The GOP acts utterly helpless and fickle. I don’t doubt many would stand with Dems in an impeachment and that’s why the Dems keep talking about it. They know how many repubs in congress they “own”. I am Christian so I will pray that the repubs in congress elect to defend their country instead of their careers.

And yes, Trump knew before he took the office exactly what he was stepping into as President. None of this we’re seeing has been a surprise to him..there have been well over 20 Congressional leaders who have been actively fighting against this coup....and they well prepared Trump in advance. He knows exactly what’s happening. ...and for that made certain to get the Military and all Law enforcement across the nation behind him as he ran his campaign. ..and the idea of getting back to law and order.
It’s going to take that to get this nation back on solid footing. Without law and order the nation will will be destroyed by this un-american entities fighting us from within.
They would be wiped out as a political entity, and they aren’t that stupid.
