I travel to Maine and New Hampshire twice a year for photo trips and Connecticut is by far the worst part of the drive. The interstate is one big parking lot and I think every illegal in the state works at the travel centers. Try getting off at one and hitting the Mickey D’s. You’ll be lucky if they understand english.
Who voted him into office? Perhaps next time you might consider electing someone else.
well they all voted the genius libtard in. want to bail when you get when the libtard you voted for governs like a liberal socialist?
Like Detroit, only Detroit is about to turn around
CT can dry up and become the dust in the wind. Only redeeming value is the firearms industry (if any remain).
Flee while still possible.
CT ping. Sorry, it’s an old list. If I pinged you and you don’t want it let me know. I rarely ping this list but I’ll try to get your name off.
Dannel Malloy and the CT democrats are pure evil. They have no shame nor do they care about anyone other than themselves and their state union cronies.
CT is circling the drain and I wish like hell I could get out before it’s too late.
Timex took a beatin & kept on tickin over seas
Ct. is not much different from NJ where I live. Same politics, same anti-business attitude. Strong green element against any development. Went to a real estate expo today and it was jammed. Expo’s purpose was to lure retiring NJ residents to other friendlier states.
California to the west. . Connecticut to the east and the state of Illinois in the middle. What a sad state of affairs.
We fled in 2011. Our house value was sliding. We were retired and living on SocSec and some modest investments and an IRA. Calculating cost of living and running the graph, we would be bankrupt by 2020. I was born and raised in Connecticut. It was beautiful once. They ruined it. I shed a tear for what was. Sad.
We came to central North Carolina, and it saved us. We are nicely set up, and the money should last till The Big Bust — and then, I’ve been able to put some options by for that.
The less said, the better. But I AM a refugee. A TAX refugee. Damn them for what they did.
Everyone in the neighborhood knows who voted for Zer0 and this BassTurd. Make them pay your taxes and compensate for your house price. I am sure that those in the state can figure out a way to make the libs have a choice they can’t refuse.
We visited my Aunt, Uncle, and cousins a couple times a year in Stamford back in the mid fifties. CT was gorgeous then and prosperous. This is really distressing...I didn’t know how far the state had sunk.
The emperor picks and chooses what laws he wants to follow/enforce.
He's toast.
My cousin and her husband retired to a lovely wooded condo community in Litchfield, they paid about $170,000 and about 5 years later started trying to sell to join their daughter now settled in North Carolina. Each year they lowered the price beyond what they had ever thought acceptable, and finally after 7 years they “sold” it for $25,000.
They took a terrible financial beating, and they are not well-to-do at all, but they are so happy and thankful that they are out!
That sounds worse than NY and that’s saying a lot.
People are leaving NY but to NYS’s advantage are large areas of farmland, dairies, orchards, and vineyards.
In Upstate NY there are still more cows and guns than people.
My kids have all left the state and mr. mm and I are looking to retire somewhere less government and tax heavy.
CT never was an option.
In my lovely retirement, I go to a lot of tag/estate sales.
In my unofficial, non-scientific poll, I chit-chat with the people holding the tag sale .... of those who say they are retirees, 100% of them say they are moving elsewhere. 100%.
Emperor malloy admitted a few weeks ago, there is a bleeding of retirees from Connecticut. Duh.
Driving north through upper NY state, it’s sad to see the dairy farms abandoned. Very sad.
This has been the case for decades. There’s no money in dairy; taxes are killing the farms; families can’t sustain. Breaks my heart.
North Carolina, while overpopulated, is still OK. Please be happy where you are and ignore the refugee victimhood.
They usually escape their state because of the bad people they voted in, move to a really nice, conservative area, and start voting in bad people. Locusts.
