Former CBS News anchor Dan Rather called President Trump a threat to our democracy after his actions Friday banning some media from a press gaggle. He authored a scathing note on his Facebook account and sent it out via Twitter Friday evening.

The time for normalizing, dissembling, and explaining away Donald Trump has long since passed, the post began.
The barring of respected journalistic outlets from the White House briefing is so far beyond the norms and traditions that have governed this republic for generations, that they must be seen as a real and present threat to our democracy. These are the dangers presidents are supposed to protect against, not create.
For all who excused Mr. Trumps rhetoric in the campaign as just talk, the reckoning has come. I hope it isnt true, but I fear Mr. Trump is nearing or perhaps already beyond any hope of redemption. And now the question is will enough pressure be turned to all those who enable his antics with their tacit encouragement.
Rather goes on to castigate Republicans and even Democrats who have given Trump an wall of unbending support, saying that talk is cheap in reference to those who criticize Trumps action but do nothing about them.
What are you going to do about it? He demands....

You might try looking up "Constitutional Republic" to remove your ignorance (lack of knowledge).
Emphasis on Constitutional.
Did Dan also label the latest as fake but accurate? No surprise he backs the fake news folks - he’s one of them.
Dan Rather is instrumental in my dumping SeeBS from my tv News list.
Recall Pres. Reagan holding a news conference the day before the Greneda invasion.
He blasted the President prior to Reagan even giving the speech. Really pi$$ed off.
Turned him and SeeBS News off. Today I can’t stand to even hear Scott Pelley speak, aside from the content.
BTW, the Reagan news conference had nothing to do with Greeneda.
Rather doesn’t even know the frequency of a press gaggle.
That's you, in your ignorance.
Mob rule. That's what democracy is.
He banned CNN and the Times. Those are not respected journalistic outlets. Have not been for a long time.
Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide.

The barring of respected journalistic outlets from the White House briefing
Respected by who? The NYT, LAT, WaPo, CNN, Chicago Tribune, See BS News? Those "respected journalists"? I pray every day for each and every one of them to fail. Is that a sign of respect?
“Former CBS News anchor Dan Rather...”
That read so nicely I had to see it again.
Dan Rather is the Fake News King...
So its OK for the media to call the President a threat to democracy, but not the reverse. OK Dan, back on the meds.

We don’t have a democracy Danny Boy, we have a constitutional republic. But then again, how should we expect the oh so knowledgeable reporter of a fake news story intended to steer votes away from a sitting President’s re-election to know what type of government was established at the founding of our country.
Just to clear matters up, THAT was a threat to our constitutional republic.
You need to read my previous post here again and comprehend what is said.
In fact, all aspects of ‘democracy’ I outlined in #28 is included in your link to “Constitutional Republic”.
Dan Rather aside, why do you think the US isnt a democracy? (a question...you're not "saying" anything)
A democracy means:
a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives. (a definition...again you're not "saying" anything)
General Democratic Principles:
legal equality, political freedom, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of assembly, and rule of law have been identified as important characteristics. These principles are reflected in all eligible citizens being equal before the law and having equal access to legislative processes. (another definition...again you're not "saying" anything)
Is the US a Federal (Democratic) Republic, or an Authoritarian Republic? (another question...you're not "saying" anything)
You didn't really say anything, did you? You did, however, do a lot of implying.
So give me something, anything (even going back to the Articles of Confederation) that proves this nation is a democracy or was ever founded as a democracy.
In fact, all aspects of democracy I outlined in #28 is included in your link to Constitutional Republic.
All aspects? I don't see "Constitution" mentioned at all in your definition.
Did someone email Dan and tell him we’re a representative Republic?
