A local woman, Kim Acres, is orchestrating a pro-Trump rally at Town Park in Madison next week in conjunction with a nationwide effort, The Spirit of America Rally, urging Americans to come together to simultaneously show public support for President Donald Trump. The first round of rallies will be held across the country on Monday, February 27 at noon, including the one at Town Park.
This is to show support for our President. Lets show that Patriotism has not died. These rallies are being held all across this great country on that same date and time. Lets join them in showing our support, wrote Acres.
According to Acres, she was inspired to organize the rally in hopes of bringing people together around a positive and patriotic message.
This is all about coming together to show support for President Donald Trump, said Acres. These rallies are inclusive and non-partisan and open to anyone wishing to support President Trump. There is just so much division in our country right now, I am just hoping this rally can bring people together.
Acres, who does not consider herself a Republican, but a constitutionalist, originally supported Republican Ted Cruz during the primaries until Trump secured the nomination.
Even then, I was a little bit wary, admitted Acres. But so far he has kept all of his promises and he is our president. We should show our support. I love this country very much and I am very patriotic. This just seems like the patriotic thing to do.
According to Acres, between 50-100 have already committed to attending the rally, with interest from people in Morgan, Greene, Walton, and Athens-Clarke counties.
This is a grassroots thing, said Acres. People all over want to show their support for their country and their president.
Acres learned of this growing movement from conservative outlets, such as Main Street Patriot, Breitbart News and World Net Daily, which are helping coordinating the dates and times of the rallies. There are so many protests, and we just want to celebrate and welcome others to do the same. And if protesters show up against usI hope they dont, but if they do, thats OK, too.
Acres urges all attendees to come to the rally next Monday at noon with creative signs, American flags, and patriotic attire. We want it to be a fun event and show our American spirit, said Acres.

Love to see our side gearing up. I live close by, but why in the world would the organizers schedule this at noon on a work day?
I agree with you there....these events should have been held on a Saturday.
