Teachers tried this with Chris Christie, and the Asbury Park Press published all of the salaries of every public school teacher in the state (as public information).
Haven’t heard a peep out of the NJ teachers since; they are completely reviled outside of gubmint employee circles. Taxpayers were shocked at how much they were paid for what would never qualify as full-time work in the private sector (180 days that certainly aren’t 9-5); those salaries, combined with the ridiculous retirement packages, have destroyed the state. Christie won twice here, but I doubt there are enough American taxpayers left to elect someone like him again (he is prevented from running by term limits).
