If Barry was an “academic high flyer” at Harvard, I’m gonna start a posse to locate my “Order of the Coif” that went missing at my own 1986 graduation from a law school that is at least as good as Harvard.

Oh yeah. That’s right. They don’t give those types of awards to “B” students.

If Barry was an academic high flyer he would still have been bragging about it.

The reason his grades at Columbia and Harvard have been embargoed is because they would show him to be a B or even a C student (certainly at Harvard - if he was a “B” student at Columbia I can GUARANTEE you from personal experience of being an “A” Phi Beta Kappa undergrad, going to a law school of Harvard’s caliber and suddenly being surrounded by people most of whom had grades even better than yours, you would settle in the downwards direction on the grade scale and start experiencing letters on your report cards that just a few years before in college would have been unimaginable).

And that history of course would not have fit in with the narrative of the leftists who made him “The Golden Child” and promoted him over and over again til he conned an entire nation into getting a job that was several ranks above his “Peter Principle” zone ...

If I understand correctly, law students take their toughest and most substantive courses in their first year. Afterwards they can take a variety of electives that don’t have much to do with the nuts-and-bolts “black letter” law. Such courses can be theoretical or only distantly related to actual laws and cases. In such an environment it’s possible to stand out if you can talk a good line. So it’s not surprising that Obama — who could do that, at least with some people — could do well at Harvard after not doing well at Columbia.
