*Obama wanted to make it easier for people with low credit ratings to get a mortgage. So he had the government pay the lenders a subsidy to keep the interest rate lower than what the lenders would normally charge riskier borrowers. Trump put an end to the subsidy. This is what she is talking about.
Isn’t this how we got in trouble - giving subsidized mortgages to people for homes they couldn’t afford?*
