WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Two senior Republican lawmakers on Sunday said they would vote to approve President Donald Trump's nominee for secretary of state, Rex Tillerson, despite their concerns over the former ExxonMobil chief's relationship with Russia's president.
"After careful consideration, and much discussion with Mr. Tillerson, we have decided to support his nomination to be secretary of state," Senators John McCain of Arizona and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina said in a statement.
"Though we still have concerns about his past dealings with the Russian government and President Vladimir Putin, we believe that Mr. Tillerson can be an effective advocate for U.S. interests," the two senators, both senior members of the Senate committee weighing Tillerson's nomination, said in their statement.

McCain got caught red handed in the Russian hotel BS story. So he has to toe the line on this one, without McTrator Linda cannot defy Trump and vote no. Trump should have some people get a recall going in SC Linda has to go he is nothing but a Rat mole and everyone knows it.
He will probably never be President because he’ll be too old - the youthful factor won’t be an asset anymore by the time he would again be able to run...plus if he keeps grandstanding like he has the last couple of weeks he is going to lose favorability very quickly.
But as you know, he is indeed a natural born citizen of the United States - this has been adjudicated multiple times, we can look at the meaning of the phrase from the time it was written by the Founders, and so forth. Your argument does not hold water. Time to stop your obsession with this as it is bordering on mental illness - not only because it is not true, but because this is 2017, and it would not even be an issue again until 2024 at the earliest.
The red state Dems should have cover based on the fact that one of those who introduced Tillerson was former Senator Sam Nunn (D-Georgia) and strongly supported his nomination.
I suspect they made a deal with Trump to get one of their staff appointed to deputy “something” in the administration, in exchange for their Tillerson support.
This type of things goes on in Washington ALL THE TIME.
I wish Trump would expose this crap, and put an end to it once and for all.
It means exactly what it meant when the founders wrote it into the Constitution.

By the way, he’s an oil guy so Murkowski’s vote is probably not in doubt.
As long as those two vote for him, we don’t need Rubio.
