We must have been on the same ship. Norwegian Cruise Lines - not being a US ship, they have to touch a non-US port before returning to the cruise around the Hawaiian Islands.
My shock on that cruise was when we were 700 miles from land, a USCG helicopter begins flying around the ship! Hey! There’s no land anywhere near here - and we are way beyond the range of that chopper! How did it get here???????

11 day cruise for the price of a 7 day. Mrs BN & I rented bicycles and rode out to the villages to learn about their water problems (I teach hand augered wells and DIY PVC hand pumps to villagers)
