Following up on the paper-writing metaphor: if we look at Obama as an actor hired to play a script, the Hawaii story and Kenyan story can both be viewed as part of the backstory, a backstory flexible enough to adjust as needed to suit the audience. The actual plot begins when Obama steps into the public eye at Harvard with his full-blown legend already written--a character fully-hatched. The plot moves into a new act in July 2004 when John Kerry picks Obama to give the 2004 Democratic National Convention keynote speech, which instantly prompts Chris Matthews to comment, "...I have seen the first black president there. And the reason I say that is because I think the immigrant experience combined with the African background, combined with the incredible education, combined with his beautiful speech, not every politician gets help with the speech, but that speech was a piece of work." This is clearly a script coordinated between the handlers of Kerry, Obama, and Matthews--Al Gore has failed his mission to seize the director's chair, Kerry is looking like a long shot, they have decided to deploy Obama as their backup plan for 2008, if Clinton can't get the job done he will. The next act has Kerry displacing Clinton to become Obama's Secretary of State--Obama wants to be director, and Clinton is being written out of the story. We've reached the climax of the script now with Obama and Kerry doing everything possible to provoke Russia, isolate Israel, and paint the domestic "Alt Right" as a Russian fifth column. They're all ready to shoot the final act of this script, but they ran into one little problem: Donald Trump went off-script. The new script is:
