Big mistake. The letter "x", along with "y", is ingrained in designations of chromosomes.

The competing solution was "latin@."

It gets in both the "a" and the "o".

But how would you possibly pronounce it?

Let them try “Latinu”, then. But then many Romanians will complain about being confused with Latin Americans.
