Judge orders unsealing of search warrant in Clinton email probe

A federal judge has ordered the unsealing of a search warrant that played a role in the controversial public renewal of the investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's email just before the presidential election.

The warrant was issued by a federal magistrate in late October, after the FBI requested permission to search emails contained on a laptop belonging to Clinton aide Huma Abedin's estranged husband Anthony Weiner. The FBI discovered the Clinton-related emails after initially seizing the laptop during a probe over Weiner's alleged sexually explicit online exchanges with a minor.

U.S. District Court P. Kevin Castel issued an order Monday that the warrant linked to the Clinton probe and related records be unsealed at noon Tuesday, unless a higher court steps in.

I look forward to reading this, but I would guess that it was highly sanitized and does not include much that we do not already know.

It’s all going to have to come out, even though I think DJT would rather let it drop.

The reason is simple: Hillary/Obama are not going to go away. They’re going to make constant pests of themselves, start a “shadow government,” etc. The only thing that will get them to lay off is to go after all the criminality and corruption they engaged in while in office.

Unfortunately, they are too stupid to understand this, so they’re going to keep it up. They are giving our side no choice.

As always “controversial “ equals bad for the bad guys.

If this was bad for the good guys it would be “much applauded”

If this was France, they would be beheaded by a lynch mob. Yeah, I know that’s an oxymoron, but still. :-)

I'd wager he doesn't mind it playing out - he just didn't want to appear vindictive or abusive of the office by making it an on-going agenda item for himself.

A Clinton front man is behind the FOIA request and suit demanding release. It might backfire on them, but their likely objectives are twofold:
1) No matter what the search warrant and affidavits actually say, they will plant fake news stories claiming that it was definitely a plot by Trump loyalists working for the Russians. MSM and other Clinton stooges will repeat the propaganda endlessly.
2) Find out whoever in the NYPD “betrayed” Hillary by doing their duty, so they can be destroyed.

Seems like most of the commenters don’t realize what this ruling is actually about. The warrant is being unsealed because Huma Abedin’s lawyers have argued that they never received a copy of the warrant that was issued to search Weiner’s laptop, from which her emails were seized. They have also argued that they do not believe the warrant covered searching and seizing Huma’s emails, since they were not relevant to the investigation into Weiner’s sexting. So, most likely, this is a win for the Clinton camp, as it is likely that all of Huma’s emails that were seized cannot be used as evidence in any criminal case, since they were probably obtained illegally.

I assume there will be an appeal as it is an ongoing investigation?

depending on the state or if its fed, affidavits for search warrant can become public after served in california 10 days...unless judge seals it for some unusual reason..
