The Mainstream Media was the crucial factor in our defeat in Vietnam. CBS in particular with “traitor Cronkite.” I quit trusting the mainstream media in 1974. They lied via acts of omission and acts of commission. It is still a lie.
In reality, CBS news was on the side of the enemy in the Vietnam War, ABC and NBC also but not near to the degree of CBS.
The TET Offensive by North Vietnam was a total and absolute disaster for North Vietnam. They lost their ass. I well remember Walter Cronkite portraying it as a great victory for North Vietnam and the Viet Cong. That was an absolute lie and Walter Cronkite knew it was a lie. This was just one of many lies CBS and the rest of the media gave us.
If what Walter Cronkite did is not “giving aid and comfort to enemy” I do not know what treason is.
The Mainstream Media was on the side of North Vietnam and the Viet Cong. That is why that war was lost. They destroyed the will to fight and support the fight back home. They did not destroy the will of the soldier, airman, marine and naval men to fight. The Vietnam War was lost via the news media not our fighting men.

I was a college student from 1962-66 and I quit watching network news during those years. I saw what Cronkite did to the war effort. I truly think he had the most to do to make it an anti war period of time. A high school and college friend was killed over there later on. I will never forget hearing his mom screaming at all hours for her only child. She was in the nursing home with my mom.
