Well, silly me. I thought this was clamping down on people who don’t work for a living taking money from working Americans and wasting it on cigarettes. I should have know.

If I were benevolent dictator, any able-bodied person on welfare would not be allowed to smoke, drink or own a pet. This is all luxury that nobody else should have to pay for. I know - impossible to enforce. But I can still think it.

I disagree with a ban on owning a pet. That teaches responsibility.

...be required to work at least 25 hours a week doing community service under the direction and control of County Sheriffs’ Depts., to remain qualified for welfare.

That includes cleaning parks, overgrown cemeteries, painting, picking up trash on roadways, etc.

Aside... Julian Castro is a POS and so is his twin!
