Straight to dvd. Had no plans to see it in any case. Suggestion to John. Change title to "Hollywood steps up continuing assault on gun ownership.". Meanwhile, supposedly lines of folks waiting to buy weapons. A lot of them women.

They were expecting Hillary to win. This was going to be free lobbying for her first initiative.

At this point they are using money they collected under Obama to fund this propaganda. They don’t care about making money; that’s not the point

Okay….ban all guns in Hollywood productions. Can’t have the young ‘uns seeing those evil things. And while we’re at it, ban all rapes and murders in movies and TV productions. Follywood would collapse if such a ban existed.

This is what Network News did to the Tea Party. This stuff was all in place for a Hillary win.

I predict “A Hollywood Bomb” at the box office. What would be nice is a large crowd on line at sling arms.

Meanwhile, a wife beating felon like Sean Penn can carry a concealed weapon in CA. Supposedly he gave up his guns for Charleze Theron, but I bet he still has the license and has re-armed himself since she dumped him.

I am actually anxious to see them raise their stakes, going over the top, then turn around and give each other high fives. With little more efforts, they will be able to make Americans completely jaded. I want this because it will finally make people turn their backs on Hollywood en masse. Nothing hurts more than plummeting ticket sales and abysmal ratings. Their money needs to be drained. It is even better if they do it themselves.

***These movies and television shows that are pushing gun controls...***

Nothing new. They started doing this back in 1968 after Bobby Kennedy got murdered. The shows from the 1970s were viciously anti-handgun (Rifles were blessed by the 2nd Amendment, handguns weren't).

In the 1980s, rifles became the target and suddenly lost their 2nd Amendment coverage.

Her is an oldie from the past, 1964 by the most vicious anti-gun cartoonist! And this one is mild compared to his later work!

What blatant hypocrisy.

What with all the gun violence that sells movies, they are now against gun ownership?

As the financial backers of these Soviet revival films lose money, fewer will be made. Remember if a producer has had a very profitable year he can engage his political fantasy with such a money losing film, declare a loss, pay much less tax and in effect have the government underwrite the propaganda,

Hollywood has been against private ownership of guns since I was a kid ... back in the fifties.

I remember old B&W westerns in which the sheriff enforced strict gun confiscation in his territory because widespread gun ownership created a society of extreme violence.

The popular notion of the extremely violent wild west (with the exceptions of the government’s slaughter of the Plains Indians and retaliatory incidents) is a creation of Hollywood. The theme had entertainment potential, but a side benefit for the left was that it was also a platform for gun control. The fact is that the most violent of towns, Dodge City, Kansas, before gun confiscation wasn’t as violent as today’s Chicago with gun control.

#EschewMissSloane perhaps?

Oh yeah, somebody is buying millions of guns and I doubt they are all republicans. Maybe the grabbers ought to take a new poll.

Moral low ground...

Can She Take Away America’s Guns? Miss Sloane Gives It a Try

But Sloane’s conversion isn’t a go-and-sin-no-more moment. To rouse congressional support, she dupes a school-shooting survivor (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) into becoming the public face of the movement. She also lies, cheats, and has emotionless sex with a high-priced male escort (Jake Lacy). Eventually she’s dragged in front of a holier-than-thou senator (John Lithgow) to answer for her professional indiscretions. In Sloane’s world, the end always justifies the means, no matter how often she’s told she’s gone too far this time—and she gets told that a lot, mostly by her new boss (Mark Strong), who’s more of a not-by-any-means guy.

There's a character for our daughters to model themselves after. (not)

The Chinese Communist Party owns Hollywood and the movies are made to make money in China and make the US Government/Military look stupid

What the NYSLIMES pans a gun grabbing films, you know it’s bad!

Partly because “Miss Sloane” is more a character study than a coherent political drama, it fumbles the issue it purports to address, and it eventually runs aground in a preposterous ending. In light of the recent presidential election, it all feels like small potatoes.
