The War on Guns by John Lott

John Lott is the most admired and the most vilified of researchers on the effects of laws that restrict gun ownership and being armed in public, and the effects of the reform of laws that restrict gun ownership and bearing arms in public.

His research is well accepted among his peers, and vilified by those who disagree with his results.

John had to learn the hard way that honest science about guns and gun laws is not welcome in most of academia.

Unfortunately, academia has, in large part, been taken over by people who are ignorant of guns and gun legislation, and who are proud of their ignorance.  To a great many academics, the facts about guns do not matter.  They have already made up their minds.  To them, what is important is how facts can be contorted to support pre-existing policy decisions.  Studies, scientific reputations, math, are all merely tools to push policy in a way that they intend for it to go.

But responsible Second Amendment supporters are making a difference.  They do not get the facts out in New York Times articles, or in fake documentaries by Michael Moore or Katy Couric.

They comment.  Their fact based comments permeate the comment sections of newspapers, online publications, blogs and TV stations.  They are winning the debate with facts and logic.

What they must have is ammunition in the form of facts.  This ammunition is available on the net, but it tends to be a little dated.  It is also spread out in numerous sites.

John Lott has had to answer all the false claims and investigate the fraudulent studies of the gun haters.

Overtime, ignorant people are converted to Second Amendment supporters. It only takes time, energy, hard work, facts, and logic.

1) Feds are providing unlimited quantities of military ordnance to Police Depts. + 2) The Feds are nationalizing police Depts. Nationwide = 3) the Feds aren’t worried about disarming us.

The way the Feds don’t support the police shouldn’t they be concerned about giving them more arms?

Then we’re going to have to put the worry right back into them.

Sadly, facts and logic are of no use in convincing people whose opinions are not formed on the basis of facts and logic.

Indeed. That's why I suspect the "Background Check" aka registration, is going to pass in Nevada. Non-gun owners just don't give a damn - i.e. "It doesn't affect me".

The problem is the Left is impervious to logic, fact, common sense, and iron-clad arguments. The "my mind's made up, stop confusing me with the facts" mindset. Someone, somewhere, in some state legislature, is gonna have to start saying "NO". Then We The Sheeple are gonna have to find our collective ba!!s and tell our legislators to grow a collective pair, and do the same.

The time of changing minds is over and gone. Now's the time to draw a line in the sand, stare the Leftist a$$wipes dead in the eye, and be ready to knock the living shi'ite out of whoever crosses it.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho! God Bless Texas!

Its not the war on guns...its the war on your guns. The dem plan isnt a gun free society. Its a society in which certain classes are disarmed and others arent. Make no mistake, dems have no problem with guns. Their problem is that you can have them too.
