Reagan picking Bush was a mistake, although, now I wonder if the Bushies would have mounted an Establishment operation in 1980 to take down Reagan before the election.

Word has it that he really did not want Bush for VP, and was pressured to do so in order to proceed.
Imagine if he had said “No”. Well, the Bush Ass. attempt would have happened BEFORE Reagan became President, instead of shortly afterwards. JMO.
