How many more indicators do we need to see to realize that a major confrontation between Russia and the West is approaching rapidly? Is World War III upon us? Because its certainly starting to look that way, and I am far from the only person saying it. The most alarming thing about it is that WWIII is most likely to involve nuclear weapons, which brings the destruction to a level that threatens the very existence of humanity.
Steve Rosenberg, Russia correspondent for the BBC tweets constantly about the situation in Russia. To quote him:
When 1 Russian paper talks about a war between US & Russia, thats worrying. When 2 papers do it, its very worrying.
In no particular order, here are 8 warning signs that should grab your attention right now.
#1 The Epic Civilian Drill
This one worries the daylights out of me. Russia is currently conducting a drill that involves more than 40 million people and scenarios will cover biological, chemical, and nuclear emergencies.

I would tend toward calling “BS”. What is left that they want?
We are hollowed out completely, financially, and limp militarily.
But, we serve as a useful tool for the security of the world as long as we can borrow from China to stay air born.
Russia just wants to pick our enemies and point to our targets.
They should love Obama, actually.
8 right off the top of my head.
Barack Obama
John Kerry
Joe Biden
James Comey
Loretta Lynch
Jeh Johnson
Hillary Clinton

Oh, dear. The Russians are afraid (as usual). I’m clutching my pearls.
I can understand why Obama hates Putin. To his credit, Putin understood that Obama was not the messiah that so many in the US imagined him to be. Putin also has exposed Obama to be the weakling that he is on the international stage. Putin knew it and took full advantage to advance Russia’s interest.
Obama knows that he has been “dissed” in front of the whole world by Putin, Obama will try to exact his revenge in some shape, matter or form. How exactly I do not know. It is one thing to have a war of words. It is another to escalate a conflict like Syria into something more frightening. Is it possible that there may be an incident in which a plane is shot down? Yes, but it does not mean the missiles will be flying on both sides. There will be restraint because both sides understand that things can get out of control quickly.
It will be very interesting to see what happens in the Middle East prior to the election, and what happens afterwards depending on who wins.
I hope to God Trump wins.
That was a completely lunatic statement, but I remembered it, and it has taken on more significance as time went on. Later, in the Bush administration, Bush schemed to put missile defense systems in Eastern Europe, right up against Russia, so that Russia would be forced to respond.
In the Obama administration, they did the same thing, positioning weapons near Russia. Obama did not start the revolution in Ukraine, but they did scheme to put a very pro-America, anti-Russia government in power there, which caused a response from Russia. They also took the opportunity in the "Arab Spring", caused by Obama, to attempt to overthrow Syria, Russia's long time ally, and the location of Russia's only remaining base on foreign soil.
Think about these things from a Russian perspective. Russia has lost tens of millions of citizens because it was invaded from the west. No one suffered as much in World War II as much as Russia did. The fear of being attacked from the west is now written into the DNA of everyone who survived. It fears an invasion from the west so much that it created the eastern bloc client states as a buffer against Germany. So why are Bush and Obama building up forces to the west of Russia?
We have been shaped to believe for generations now that Russia is the bad guy. But lately, they have been reacting to us, not acting aggressively first. When I now look back at the reason we would not allow them into NATO, it makes the actions of the US government clear to me. The US government, and the military industrial complex, seems to have decided that peace is not profitable enough, and they need to create enemies, so that we can be "protected" from them with really expensive weapon systems. My fear is that Russia isn't in on the joke. They will continue to poke Russia in the eye, until they finally provoke a real response. When the response comes, the narrative will be that Russia is evil and they are good, and we need to support them and win the war.

But Obama removed the missiles from Poland, which gave me the heeby jeebies for Poland’s sake.
I don’t have trust of Putin, like kissing a cobra, but I agreed with TRUMP that Putin is not having it with any terrorists, and if sparing us from going in there, it is a good thing to have Russia doing the work. And ISIS is a threat to Russia.
Also, the Russian pooh pah at the UN defended TRUMP and took offense with what was said against DJT, enough that he went to the top with complaint. Get a load of that. LOL!
Let’s face it, the economy is a failing shell game, the ways of man are dead, there is no true spiritual direction in most human beings, and the world has chosen to curse the God of Israel who is the true God...all the governments know it will fail and is failing, in light of that it will be war to determine the new world leader, either they win or lose, they plan to win..
Come Lord, teach us your way..
they don’t care in their vision of life as only they are so called fair...blood thirsty bholes with no vision of their own but their superiority as the world dies..to hell with satan and his minions

Hey, let’s be thorough here. New York and DC gotta go, too.
You add a /sarc tag like what you said isn’t absolutely, perfectly true.
“Emergency! Everybody to get from street!!”
Putin doesn’t want nuke war. if he went into it with America, presumably in Syria he’d try to nutralize US forces in the area and have his way.
No worry until Russia evacuates some places and people in Moscow go underground. THEN it will hit the fan. Eisenhower wanted to have fallout shelters incorporated into the interstate highway system under construction but it never happened, the soviets built a major shelter/subway under Moscow in case of nuclear attack.
It won’t be just one warhead going off over a city but several, dad played war games yearly with SAC during the cold war and it was scary. He moved us over 30 miles upwind from the major bases in San Antonio just in case.
Democrats are completely insane and if hillary wins expect a nuclear war within 6 months. On the bright side the major liberal cities will get vaporized.
In the early 1990’s only 6% of Russians had a negative view of America and American foreign policy.
By the end of the Bush Administration (2008) the number was 40% have a negative view.
Currently, 81% of Russians citizens have a negative view.
I don’t blame them. Many Americans feel the same way they do. Sad.
He built a country off of oil prices, so war is what happens when a country fails economically to protect the leadership.
