My father was a Navy officer for 30 years. I helped him with his writing in the 70s and 80s. We thought a Russian first strike was a reasonable possibility.

Maybe that’s when I learned not to care about death. I certainly don’t now!

My Dad was in the navy too. Vet of WW2 and Korea.

he was also the ship’s photographer.

I grew up gazing at unpublished real photos of the Battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa.

Needless to say, I have a profound respect and love for our Veterans.
