FWIW: A year or so ago, we received one of the off-year US Census surveys in the mail. I tossed it. My husband thought answering it was the thing to do. He rescued the survey, filled it out (I can’t recall, but it was probably either one of those Small Business surveys or one on rural residents). End of story. No follow-up or consequences.
This UofC operation looks legitimate, so if your husband wins out, likely there will be no fall-out.

I assume you’ve made your case to your spouse. I also assume he’s heard and understands
your position. Imo, that said you should make it clear to him you don’t approve but leave that
decision up to him and move on. Don’t
continue to rub it in his face no matter which way he chooses.
