Commander-in-Chief Obvious Weighs in on the Kaepernick Kerfuffle

He hasn't been following it closely; yet he's willing to weigh in with his understanding of it (where have we heard this before?):

“My understanding at least is he’s exercising his constitutional right to make a statement. I think there’s a long history of sports figures doing so,” Obama said Monday during a news conference in Hangzhou, China.

Strawman. This isn't a question of Constitutional rights. No one I know who is challenging Kaepernick's "stance" disputes his 1st Amendment right to be anti-American (which is an American tradition to do amongst some Americans on one side of the political spectrum). But those of us who disagree with him, his forum for protest, his expression of it, and his opinion regarding history, race, cops, etc. have a Constitutional right as well to protest the protester. Duh.

“But I don’t doubt his sincerity.

There goes my figurative coffee all over the figurative computer keyboard.

I think he cares about some real, legitimate issues that need to be talked about and, if nothing else, what he’s done is generated more conversation about some topics that need to be talked about.”

Okay. Let's talk about BLM and cop on black violence. Let's talk about slavery. White privilege. American "genocide" of Native Americans. Oppression in 2016 America. Racism in 2016 America. [sarcasm] Because those issues have not been flagellated to death and divisive enough, already [/sarcasm]. Since we're on it, let's talk about how the Howard Zinn/Noam Chomsky worldview of America is seriously lopsided, distorted, flawed, and damaging.

Kaepernick has a right to be anti-American, as an American. And as an American, myself, I recognize his act and opinion for what it is: an American anti-American act of self-hatred of country.

He’s been utterly humiliated on the world stage by Putin again and wants to take his anger out on patriotic Americans with this BS.

What the hell happened to the Democrats? Guys like Truman and John Kennedy may have been wrong on policy in many ways but you never had any doubt that they were patriots at least. Look at the current state of their party.

No, Kaepernick is throwing gasoline on a dying fire just like you've been doing, Jugears.

Gee, what a surprise! Our half-black, abandoned by his black father, raised by rich white people, incompetent, arrogant, anti-American President finds a buddy exactly like himself. Well, at least Colon doesn't throw like a girl, so there's one difference.

It’s grimly amusing to watch the Marlboro Moron talk about sports amd protests - it’s clear that his views and understandings are those derived solely from others. In this case, it’s ESPN documentaries and Sports Illustrated articles written by and for lefties.

This pencil necked geek was more interested in smoking dope than he was in watching sports...even now he believes he can BS his way through topics he has no clue about.

“Need to be talked about” does not mean what it sounds like. It means “you must be lectured and agree with the leftist approach”. Because to tell Obama he’s wrong makes you a Nazi, KKK, etc. He has zero desire to “talk” with you.

He isn’t following it but somehow he knows this third string quarterback is protesting “legitimate” issues. How do you figure?

Probably invite Kaepernick to the White House when he gets back from the Asian debacle.

Question for Obama.. if violent interracial crime is almost entirely white on black as you strongly imply that it is.. well the federal government published interracial crime data for years and years prior to you taking office. Where's the brief?

Here's mine. I say that the data show that interracial violence is mostly black on white. Oh, and why did you stop releasing the data to the public -- at least I cannot find NCVS Table 42 data since 2008?

Ever notice how when someone kicks the US Obama springs to their defense, but when someone lauds the US Obama condemns it. Or that if someone criticizes Obama then they’re spouting “conspiracy theories”.

“”I think there’s a long history of sports figures doing so””

He should have followed up with names. Like for example who, obozo? Remember he brought up the word HISTORY so let’s look at HISTORY:

Ali? Yep - but did he insult and denigrate the country as a way of life? Did he complain about being oppressed?

Sugar Ray Robinson - not that I ever heard
Joe Louis - not that I ever heard
Jackie Robinson - Yes, about lack of housing for blacks which was valid as far as the movie about his life was portrayed. We didn’t have the news coverage at the time to learn otherwise about any of these.

The 2 pukes from the Mexico Summer Olympics in 1968 - Yep - more for notoriety than any specific protest...

More recent black figures in the boxing world but my goodness they had so many problems, if they had complaints it would have been about how they themselves were covered for their various transgressions (for lack of a better word.)

Does that qualify for a “long history?”

If Kaepernick were a militia member protesting illegal government land grabs then Obama would have him shot.

Obama loves protesters when they are leftist scum bags, just like him.
