Become a ham radio operator.

In addition to normal long distance radio communications, there's a new network that can do an end run around the internet.

It uses repeaters worldwide on several bands to link the repeaters together.

It also goes into and out of the internet.

Should we lose the internet, it will still work, just not as well.

Become a ham radio operator.

Easier said than done. To legally be a ham radio operator, you have to have a license, which requires considerable knowledge in the field of electronics. The equipment is also expensive. And ham radio operators are regulated by the FCC.
