Michigan has an elusive beauty that is difficult to put into words. I remembered it from my childhood, though, and was not disappointed when I returned.
I hope you make it to yooper country. It's not really that scenic here, but the lakes are as clear as anything I have ever seen. The dry climate and lack of humidity make spring just perfect. The skies are as blue as you can imagine, and the air is just glorious to breathe.
We live in the north very near the bridge and wildlife is abundant. Colors I did not expect, such as bright red bodies on daddy long leg spiders, are everywhere.
People think the pacific northwest is so wonderful but I have news for them.
And there is a ton of snow in the winter but it is powder 90% of the time and just brushes right off the car. The distinct four seasons are really enjoyable. I wish I had come home sooner. If you head up this way drop me a line.
Spent time at a friend’s wife’s father’s [convoluted yet?] cabin in the Manistee Nat’l Forest back in the early 80’s. Lovely country!
