There’s still the cost of pumping and distribution. But still, if the cost is bearable, imagine the interior of Australia becoming a breadbasket rather than a desert. Or the Sahara blooming.

If we could free ourselves from environmental propaganda we would be investing heavily into smaller nuclear power generation using thorium (which can dispose of current nuclear wastes). Cheap energy benefits everyone.
