BELO HORIZONTE, Brazil — There will be no shot at Olympic gold for Canada's women's soccer team.

Second-ranked Germany defeated No. 10 Canada 2-0 in the semifinals today in Belo Horizonte.

The loss ended Canada's four-game winning streak at the Olympic tournament.

Melanie Behringer and Sara Daebritz scored for the Germans, who will play No. 6 Sweden for gold at the storied Maracana in Rio.

The Swedes defeated No. 8 Brazil on penalties in the other semifinal.

Germany has a chance at an Olymic soccer double with the men facing Nigeria in Wednesday's semifinal.

Canada will face the Olympic hosts earlier Friday in Sau Paulo for bronze.

The two teams know each other well, splitting a two-game exhibition series in Canada prior to the Games.

Canada won the bronze medal four years ago in London.

USA Sweeps Poland 3-0!

USA! USA! USA!

Meanwhile Germany beat Nigeria 2-0 in men’s soccer and will play Brazil (Neymar) in the Final. :)

Hard to believe the US has made after how awful they looked against Canada.

Also, I predict Argentina will shock the US today in Men’s basketball.

Maybe. Will be at that same stadium.
With the fastest goal in Olympic history/a>, Neymar led Brazil back to the gold-medal match.

The Barcelona striker scored 15 seconds into the game<

Looks like the grief of a Hitlery voter after Trump's YUGE win.

I hope the ERs and suicide hotlines aren't too overwhelmed.

Germany Spoils Brazil’s Beach Volleyball Dreams
Rio’s beach party failed to go as planned.

...To make matters worse, earlier in the evening Brazil’s other women’s beach team, Larissa Franca and Talita Antunes, lost in three sets in the bronze medal match to Americans Kerri Walsh Jennings and April Ross.

Watched the Croatia-Serbia game, good game went down to the wire.

And they actually did shake hands after the game.
