We’ve Already Used Up Earth’s Resources For 2016 — And It’s Only August
HUFFPO ^ | Aug 8, 2016 | Dominique Mosbergen

We’ve failed again.

It’s less than eight months into 2016 and the ominous day is already nearly upon us: Earth Overshoot Day, previously known as Ecological Debt Day, is a reminder of the enormous toll we take on the Earth.

The day marks the juncture when humanity’s demand for ecological resources exceeds what the planet can replenish annually. In 2016, it falls on Monday, which means people have already consumed an entire year’s worth of the world’s resources ― and we still have four months to go until the year’s end.

For the rest of 2016, we’ll be “living on resources borrowed from future generations,” as the World Wildlife Fund pointed out when we failed last year.

Based on their fiscal policies, I thought they were in favor of this.

We used up all the Thorium in the earth’s crust?

We used up all the water? Even the oceans?

We used up all the iron in the crust?

Did someone dismantle the earth to build a Dyson Sphere and not tell anyone????

Hey Huffy Po dudes,

I don’t think Nature works like that. She doesn’t run on credit. It’s cash and carry.

You either got it or you don’t.

If you deplete a year’s supply of something, there’s no ghost somethings that you can use until next year.

SMH...

I think I used up my toilet paper allotment back in January, but it's because every time I see Madam Benghazi on TV, I am "MOVED".

[[We’ve Already Used Up Earth’s Resources For 2016 — And It’s Only August]]

Maybe it is time the people who believe this start doing something about it. I suggest they all dig a great big hole and drive their cars , and dump their air conditioners , heaters , refrigerators , stoves , computers etc all into it too.

THEY should feel real good about how THEY personally have helped the environment.

While they are at it they should stop going to the grocery store too because just think of how much damage is caused by all those trucks that bring them their food. An easily solution for them is to go outside and start eating the weeds.

Well, you see, back in 1884, right before electric lights and when we were still killing whales for petroleum to burn in lampps, and when horse dung was filling NY city streets, and when London was blacked out due to unregulated dirty coal burning in millions of black chuimneys, and when Pittsburgh was black with coal smoke from coke ovens wasting fuel to try to turn carbon into steel ....

Back before clean water and sewage systems and water treatment plants and fertilizers ....

Back when the earth was pure and clean and holy, but when people worked 20 hour days only to die at age 28 in squalor and dirt without heat, power, and light ... With 50% worldwide infant death rates.

Yeah. Back then we did have a renewable society. it got renewed by cheap fossil fuels, oil, coal, and hydroelectric dams.

Kent Brockman: Professor, without knowing if mankind is truly destroying the Earth, would you say it’s time for everyone to panic?”

Professor: Yes I would, Kent.

I think to make up the difference, we should slaughter enough liberals to close the gap.

The day marks the juncture when humanity’s demand for ecological resources exceeds what the planet can replenish annually.

The supply of natural resources and raw materials can be increased to meet the demand in the long run by increases in technological progress and increases in the supply of labor. They can always be replenished sooner or later. The environmentalists are operating with a incorrect conceptual analytic framework. Don't accept it.

I don’t think that limited earth resources are the problem. I think that man’s mismanagement of such resources is the problem. Corrections welcome.

So we’ve reached our yearly quota of environmental impact, But Chicago Shootings are still well within the envelope.

Then we need to try harder. There’s no reason we can’t get this back to July or even June!

Now, everybody go flush your toilet! And make sure you run your clothes dryer with nothing in it. Oh, and stand there with the refrigerator door open. Open the windows and crank up the A/C. Trade in your Prius for a HumVee. keep the oven on when you’re done baking. Chop down some trees. And for cripes’ sake, stop recycling!

We all have to pull together to make this work.

Come to think of it, the entire chart demonstrates only how republican presidents destroy the planet, while Democrats slow the destruction. From Nixon, Carter, Reagan/Bush and President Rodham and First usurper Obama.

Man, this chart will expire in January when President Trump sits in the oval office.
