I was pointing out that John the Baptist did not write it, as he was not the author of the Gospel of John, and since Jesus said it, again it had nothing to do with the Baptist (who IIRC was actually an episcopalian)(a joke)
Islam, by its theology, is an uniquely intolerant and exclusionary religion.
Though I agree with you, be careful here.
Christianity is an intolerant and exclusionary religion. Jesus said so himself.
God is intolerant of sin.
Jesus is the only way to the Father, thus excluding all other "ways".
You are right in that I should have made the distinction as a religion within a society. Jesus specifies that the religion is exclusive towards those that believe in Him!
Islam, as practiced by the majority of its believers, is intolerant as a society, a distinction that has led to Islamic Theocracy. The only match in Christian Theology comes AFTER the 2nd Coming where the Saved are believers and thus the only society.
