The Gospel Of John wasn't written by John the Baptist. It's anonymous. But if it was a John, it was probably the apostle John, writer of the book of Revelation.
John the Baptist was killed before Jesus.
John the Baptist is also mentioned in Islam.
Gospel according to St. John, 15:13 quoting Jesus at the Last Supper.
It's anonymous. But if it was a John, it was probably the apostle John, writer of the book of Revelation.
So I disagree with your first statement but agree with the second [grin!]
Of equal interest in this discussion on a Sunday is 15:18 - "If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you." Islam, by its theology, is an uniquely intolerant and exclusionary religion. Indeed, its intolerance so instructs many of its societies that the biggest killer of Muslims is other Muslims!
