In fact, such anti-Semitism masquerading as anti-Zionism represents the quintessential act of a progressive movement dedicated to overturning the core pillars of Western civilization.

The progressives (dems) don't have to worry about offending their faithful Jewish voters in this country, who will overwhelmingly support them, at the polls.

Jews have learned to fear non-Jewish nationalism--unfortunately, with good reason. (Though they don't seem to fear all non-Jewish nationalisms equally; they're really hung up on white nationalists and have tended to identify with non-white nationalists and see them as allies--a stupidity that still goes on.)

"Nationalism" can mean many things. It can mean a merely civic nationalism. It can refer to a centralized government structure over against a more decentralized and federal structure. But it can mean something quite sinister, and quite evil.

Anti-Jewish nationalism (and "right wing" anti-Semites constantly refer to themselves as "nationalists") regards the mere existence of Jews as an abomination that keeps the human race conglomerated and "stuck with each other." Without the Jews the human race would shatter; each ethnic group would go off on its own, have its own separate country, its own separate religion, and its own separate (and equally valid) truth. This is why segregationist nationalists resent the fact that the Jews are segregated from the rest of humanity and call for Jews to be blended in with everyone else and disappear. Once the Jews are gone, every ethnic group can then be "the chosen people" of its very own "gxd."

Their belief is quite correct and for a very simple reason. The Jews are the Chosen People of the One True G-d. In order for other ethnic groups to enjoy the separateness and metaphysical ramifications that the Jews do, each would have to have its own "gxd." This metaphysical non-Jewish nationalism is quite literally a form of polytheistic (or at least henotheistic) idolatry. And I'm not making this up. Just look up "ethnopluralism" or "a planet of peoples" in a web search and see what you come up with. Look up "kinism"--a movement in chrstianity to apply the prerogatives of the Chosen People to every single ethnic group in the world.

The anti-Semites claim that supporting a Jewish nationalism with metaphysical ramifications while opposing it for all other peoples is hypocrisy. But it isn't. It's merely the acknowledgement that One G-d created everyone and everything, that the entire human race is a single unit descended from Adam and Eve, and yet that out of this human race G-d chose one people to act as the clergy of humanity. Every nation can't be the "clergy." Were that the case, there would be no clergy! There is nothing wrong with national/ethnic pride or wanting to preserve one's own ethnic group. It only becomes wrong when non-Jews arrogate to themselves a Divine election that belongs to only one people.

Despite all the attacks on "Jewish decadence" and the sewer of degeneracy promoted by liberal Jews, anti-Semitism really is at bottom an attack on G-d and an assertion that one's own people has its own "gxd" that is morally superior to HaShem. This attitude calls itself "nationalism." True, the word has other meanings as well, as I said at the beginning. But American conservatives (we are still conservatives here, right?) had best lose their naivete on these issues or Jews--even religious Jews--will always be afraid of them.
