Bierce authored “The Devils Dictionary”. He was an author whose service as a major in American Civil War greatly impacted his view of mankind...it wasn’t favorable. He also was one of the very few people who wrote about a serviceman killing a comrade to put him out of his misery.

Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge excellent Civil War short story
and bittersweet rumination on on passing from life to death. And a
masterful short film made in France and first shown by Rod Serling
on Twilight Zone. Not to be missed.
