I appreciate your appreciation of this great freeper. Beau gave me permission for this. He spent a long time writing this and it should be shared. Here is more.

“The Wahhabbis/Salafis are all Sunnis. They hate the Shia. In practice, they hate them more than Christians.
The Shia have different strains of extremists. The big problem on the Shia side, is the Government of Iran - by far. Iranian people have some of the most favorable attitudes toward America of the whole Middle East, barring Israel. But the government is probably the world’s biggest state supporter of terrorism, and rabidly anti-American.
As far as I know, there is no Shia sect which compares to the Wahhabbis for their violence against all the rest of humanity on the basis of religious doctrine. The heinous government of Iran is run by an extreme Shia sect, called the twelvers (after the twelve historical Shia Imams). They are very much focused on an apocalyptic future final battle against the Sunnis, where their messiah, the Imam Mahdi, will emerge and lead them to victory. That they then supposedly go on to conquer the world is almost an afterthought, as things supposedly will progress right on to the end of the world, and paradise for the righteous, and the Imam Mahdi will take care of all the details and such. But the big chip on their shoulder is for the Sunnis.
There are many local forms of islam, which don’t teach the kind of hatred and violence that the Wahhabbis do. In the USA, schoolbooks for kids (in english) printed by Wahhabbis, state that hating non-muslims is an essential element of being a muslim - it is mandatory, one of the small handful of essential elements. They are really extreme proponents of violence, and fundamentally unfaithful to our laws and constitution.
There are many traditional forms of islam that still retain their character, despite the onslaught of Wahhabbi money and intimidation, that is changing the nature of Sunni islam all around the world.
The Ahmadiya Muslim community is famously tolerant of others in their religious views (http://www.ahmadiyya.us). Many Sufi groups are fundamentally mystical and universalist in their views of God’s creatures, although the old large Sufi orders in Turkey have been politicized to a large degree by President Erdogan, and his more Wahhabbi-leaning AKP Party.
The government of Ethiopia promotes a non-violent style of islam, which is still the mainstream there, although they are being increasingly infiltrated by Wahhabbis. Ethiopia has almost 1/3 muslims.
Most countries with significant muslim populations place strict political controls and persistent monitoring on mosques, madrassas. and imams. Part of that is because most of those countries don’t have much political freedom in any respect, but a big part is due to the inherently political nature of islam - it is fundamentally different from other religions, in many ways, it is fundamentally a political doctrine. Throughout its history, it has been used as a basis for political authority, and as incitement to war, oppression and conquest. It always poses a threat to the State.
A good bit of the leadership core of ISIS (formerly al Queda in Iraq), were products of the Iraqi Ba’ath Party’s “Faith Initiative” which started during the Iran Iraq War. The ISIS Caliph, Abu Bakr al Baghdadi got his Ph.D. from the Islamic University that the Ba’ath Party established in 1989. The Faith Initiative was a conscious attempt to harness islam as a political force, in support of the regime. They even went so far as to declare that the secular leftist (formerly communist) founder of the Ba’ath Party, Michel Aflaq (born a Christian), had converted to islam on his death bed.
The West today is inexperienced with the political character of islam, and lacks the traditional safeguards that societies with more firsthand experience have in place (monitoring, censorship). Not only that, but the West is facing an exceptionally extreme and consciously subversive strain of islam - Wahhabism, reinforced with the political sophistication of the Muslim Brotherhood.
The Muslim Brotherhood were adopted by the Nazis as primary agents of influence in the Arab world during WWII. The mufti of Jerusalem, a personal friend of the founder of the Brotherhood, moved to Berlin to do Arabic language broadcasts for the Nazis, and was the honorary commander of the two muslim Handshar SS Divisions. He was a vocal, and reportedly influential, proponent of the “final solution” for Jews, within the Nazi hierarchy.
The Brotherhood were trained by the Nazis in spycraft, propaganda and guerilla tactics; and conducted a variety of wartime missions for the Nazis in the Middle East. After the war, they remained insurrectionists active with foreign intelligence services, and were often surrogates for the Soviets - such as the Mufti of Jerusalem’s nephew, Yasser Arafat, and his Palestinian Liberation Organization.
The combination of the Brotherhood’s craftiness and subversiveness (developed under the tutelage of the 20th centuries masters of subversion), along with the ruthless absolutism of the Wahhabbi ideology, and the tidal wave of oil wealth; has produced an islamic subversive threat which even traditionally islamic countries are succumbing to. The West has been almost totally undefended.
In fact, the West has welcomed the worst of these subversive extremists, as political refugees. The very extremists that governments have to crack down on, are the ones who are seen from the outside as repressed political opposition to authoritarian regimes. The headquarters of the Muslim Brotherhood is now in London. They have been systematically given refuge in the West, often out of ignorance, and now are forcing the door open for a strategic demographic invasion, through political corruption, and their ongoing alliance with the far left.
So how many are there? They are actually a tiny fraction of the total muslim population, but they are hugely influential in affecting muslim opinion. Well organized and well funded, they are full time activists, well most muslims have to work for a living, and are busy raising families.
They have been quick and effective at ruthlessly silencing other muslim opinions. Once of the common derogatory terms for them in the Middle East is “takfiris”. To declare takfir is to label someone as a heretic within islam (the penalty for which of course, is death). That is the the experience for most muslims around the world with these guys - a ruthless bunch of thugs who will shout you down is you deviate one iota, and cut your throat if you insist.
In the West, they are consciously subversive, taking a generation-long view to jihad. Increasing their population, segregating them from integration, and indoctrinating (radicalizing) them, while establishing media front groups like CAIR, and waging lawfare to disarm the society of protective mechanisms.
So a significant consideration is not just how many of them there are today, but how fast they are growing. Immigrants today mostly get to this country and go to work. The mosques actively offer religious instruction for their kids, language classes etc.. They have gotten good at convincing them to get the kids in the door, and it is well subsidized from overseas (in a growing trend, by the US taxpayer as well). Almost all of the US mosques and madrassas (85-95%) teach wahhabbi doctrine. Second generation immigrants are typically a greater danger, because of this indoctrination that they receive.
This whole infrastructure of indoctrination is what must be uprooted. Worldwide, this Wahhabbi network of mosques and madrassas sends over a thousand fresh jihadi recruits to the latest battlefield, and over a hundred per month for suicide attacks. Wahabbi inspired terrorist attacks average about four per day worldwide. It is a standing production line, for what is essentially the secret Saudi Foreign Legion.

“I think that your estimate of 40-100 million Salafi derivatives are a good estimate - the populations of the Wahhabi Gulf Arab countries, Muslim Brotherhood Supporters in Egypt, and their cadres in many countries around the world. But they could grow tenfold in a generation through control of the education system - that is what they are aiming for, and organized to do.

I’m well aware of much of what you have posted.

I still thank you for providing additional historical facts.

The Shiite’s in Iran are “End times” fanatics to be sure.

I watched an hour long “Public Broadcast” of an Iranian TV show a few years ago. I think it was MEMRI that captured the show and did the English subtitles. It was presented to their Iranian audience as an educational, historical proclamation that is in the Koran. It makes no difference whether what they say is true. They believe it is true. They believe that they can fulfill the prophecy by proactively making certain things happen.

These people are insane.

It’s all they know and as the old dictators have fallen it has unleashed these fanatics onto the rest of the world. There was a great deal of wisdom employed by our Western leaders after WWII. They adopted a policy of containment and supported the dictators that made it happen.

Those Dictators knew their people were insane and we helped them keep a lid on them.

Those days are gone.

I would bet that there are boat loads of documents and analysis contained in the archives of the US and British intelligence agencies that made a strong case of their/our ultimate policy of containment via supporting these strong men in these Arab nations.

And today?

Today the left blames the West for keeping them under control.

The left has no clue what they are dealing with. They simply can’t compute the power associated with this death cult.
