Don't really think that would work out.
These places are about as unlike the "Hood" as you can get and still be on the same planet. The current residents' families have mostly been here since dirt, everybody knows everybody and if you get off the handful of Interstates and happen to drive a pickup, you will get a cheerful wave from everybody you meet plus know that if you pull off the road there will be somebody stop to make sure you're okay within minutes.
Oh, yeah.
The winters around these mountains can run for six months and well and truly suck.
...and finally, I know that Montana is Open Carry and I strongly suspect that Wyoming and the NoDaks do that thing as well. (This is written from a place that's 50 miles or so from the Custer Battlefield, so a word to the wise should be sufficient.)
WY and ND are both “open carry.”
