No. The biological parents have a responsibility to their children REGARDLESS of what government does or does not do.

These are not ‘petty squabbles’ at all. A strong family unit is the cornerstone of a strong and free America.

Incidentally, I am talking about personal responsibility, something the left DOES NOT want me to do.

You are correct about government intrusion in our lives and the corrosive effects it has on our culture. But nobody or nothing is to blame for Mom and Dad’s decision to be slackers except them.

Yes, that is why they are called ‘parents’ or even ‘guardians’...not ‘wards’. I don’t believe I said they DIDN’T have responsibilities to their brood/under their care.

Correct again. Responsible people don’t *need* govt. Why does anyone presume govt would foster said responsibility??

Depends on the how/why/extent of said ‘slacking’.

IMO, we wouldn’t HAVE these issues if we were still a Republic (5/9/10/13th/etc.). One cannot BE a ‘slacker’ when one needs to rely upon the (true) generosity of others.
