Briefly, Germany toyed with our minds. For a few moments, they seemed to forget it was not supposed to be in their football DNA to miss from a penalty shootout even when the heat of the battle was dangerously close to intolerable. Yet how typical that, ultimately, it was their players in the victory scrum, chasing one another in euphoria and celebrating another victory from 12 yards. No other side does it better even if, on this occasion, they gave themselves an almighty scare.
They certainly tempted us to think they might have suffered a temporary loss of identity when Thomas Müller, Mesut Özil and Bastian Schweinsteiger failed to score with three of their opening five attempts in the high drama that eventually finished with Germany extending their remarkable run of reaching the semi-finals, at least, in every major tournament since Euro 2004.

Ad hom attack, sorry one answers a question to this abuse.
No matter how one bullies someone to be able to tell lies like Italy beating Germany 8 straight tournament games, that is no less of a lie. That one carries out ad hom attacks says something.
They used to replay the entire game a few days later, but they stopped that awhile ago.
Many consider the 82 game the greatest game ever played.

If not the best certainly #2, and I can’t really think what #1 would be instead so...
That was a joke.
Some of you people should take a pill.
Brutal.
While Germany has won more international championships, Italy is largely dominant in the head-to-head international match-up, having beaten Germany 15 times in 34 games, with 11 draws and 8 defeats. Moreover, the German team had never defeated Italy in a tournament match until Euro 2016, with all Germany's other wins over Italy being in friendly competitions.
Facts are facts. Germany hadn't won a tournament game against Italy (World Cup and Euros) until 2016. Get your head out of your a$$,
Goodbye Iceland

I hope Iceland makes the WC. I miss them already, they brought a lot of great memories to this tournament.
Germany are 11-2 when playing the host nation in major tournaments.
Still like to see Germany win, but a country(?) like Wales taking it would bring a lot of excitement and stories.
As was with Leicester City winning the Premier League, it now gives everyone hope.
Poor lady. Things haven’t exactly improved there.
No, they were atrocious in the Copa America.
I heard about it - LoL!
