I tend to think it’s the parents who created the snowflakes, protecting them from every big, bad thing that could possibly ever happen. Helicopter parents.
Oh, it starts earlier than that.
Young children try various things to exert their wills: refusing to eat anything but specific foods comes to mind. If they get their way it doesn’t become easier with them later and eventually you end up with parents who think being a friend to their child is mission accomplished.
The road to Special Snowflake Syndrome begins well before the leftist ideologues get a hold of them.
