i was sure in 2008 that this country would not elect a man with an obvious arab muslim name over a war hero (i know, i use the term loosely) and Sarah Palin (a real conservative and smoking hot to boot!).

i was sure in 2012 that this country would not repeat the mistake of 2008 after seeing what an incompetent and america-hating boob the man with the arab muslim name was. running against him, we had an actual honest-to-goodness businessman who literally made a name for himself turning around struggling companies. if ever america needed a man like that, surely it was in 2012.
i was wrong.
in 2016, i’ve learned my lesson. in fact, it’s an old lesson about breads & circuses. let’s wait and see what happens, but i have my concerns and anxiety about the outcome.

My liberal mom seemed almost desperate when she asked me and my brother for only one thing on her 7th birthday. Not to vote for Hillary buy just don’t vote for Trump. It was panic.
The only way to stop the insanity is to ignore or contain it. If it becomes violent stop it, hard.
Sort of had a similar experience with a younger co-worker. He is normally very kind and respectful to everyone. He approached me about why “trickle down economics “ never works and when I said that if the wealthy have money to invest, it does trickle down he lost it.
He ranted and it was rather alarming that anyone believes like he does. While not elaborating he seemed to imply that the rich should have much of their wealth confiscated to “pay their fair share “. This from a Minnesota farm boy.
Some days I just think it’s over-we’ve lost too many of the younger voters. He would happily vote for Lenin or Stalin.

Nobody actually likes Hillary or wants her elected. They have just been trained to think Trump is worse. I see these people all the time, and they are very offensive. I think they are trying to convince themselves Hillary isn’t a horrible criminal person, and when I tell them so, they get very upset.
It’s worth saying you’re going to be voting Trump just to see people like this meltdown - sort of like when the Marx brothers would take apart the snooty woman in their movies - always good to see pompous, self-important types brought down to size....
The least unpopular candidate will win this election. The race to run up each others negatives has only begun. Gonna be quite a ride but I am afraid our country will pay for this.
