I’ve noticed that every once in a while, a liberal politician will point out that the national debt is small, when compared to the privately held wealth in this nation.

And, that statement is quickly followed by a statement about some large percentage of that wealth being held by the 1%.

The strategy is clear: Bankrupt government to the point that it starts stealing private wealth (post income tax). Politicians will be exempt of course.

Ireland has already done this by stealing from private retirement accounts - which is where I would expect it to first happen here. Just a few weeks ago, I saw a story about how the 401k had failed the American worker...and it implied the government may have to swoop in and save the day.

Liberals are not very good at math. Math is hard and liberals avoid, like the plague, anything that is difficult. Therefore, it follows that liberals spout such unsupportable demands because they cannot "do" math, reality, etc.
They are convinced of the existence of pixie dust and unicorns.
