Hardly, my side arm 40 years ago was a 1911, had them issued to me at several location. Wore out pieces of junk mostly.

There are some stored Government M1911 Pistols never fired and packed in cosmolene. I was able to purchase one ten years ago with the officer's name written in grease pencil on the inside of the box prior to issuance. It was never used and in mint unfired condition from the Korean War. I am willing to bet there are many more where that one came from.

Yep, but when I stuck that loaded, cocked, safety off piece of junk in his ear and yelled “Security Alert” he still pissed his pants. Still very functional.
