The martial law/cancel elections get tiresome. It’s kind of hard to institute martial law when there’s not enough manpower to cover the size and scope of the United States to even attempt it

The manpower is there to shut down the majaor cities, a least, and many local police forces will cooperate. I don't think TSA has the training to do it but how much training does it take to learn to kick down doors? TSA is a lot of manpower and remember, ALL the federal agencies have armed units and sufficient weapons and ammo to arm a whole lot more. You don't have to have a lot of people to initiate an effective martial law, especially if rape and pillage are considered to be just unavoidable, or perhaps useful, collateral damage.
